Antokolski, Mark

(1843-1902)
   Russian sculptor. Born in Vilna he created bas-reliefs dealing with Jewish subjects. Later he chose themes from Russian history. During waves of anti-Semitism prior to the pogroms of the 1880s, he was criticized by the Russian national press.
